Retail Clerk / Kitchen Staff
Salary: $17.50 per hour to start. Moving to $18.50 per hour after 3-month probationary period.
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent, Minimum 40 hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Language: English, Japanese would be an asset

Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Thursday to Monday, 5 days a week including weekends
Responsibilities:
· Use manual and electrical appliances in preparation of food items
· Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas
· Cut and shred vegetable with knife and food processor
· Wash and boil vegetable
· Mix vegetable and ground meat using a food mixer
· Use table-top gyoza dumpling machine to make gyoza
· Wrap and pack both raw and cooked meat products
· Clean, wash by hand and sanitize worktables, cutting boards, food containers, pots, storage areas, appliances. cutting and cooking utensils
· Remove trash, clean garbage containers and clean washroom,
· Sweep floors, kitchen, retail store and packaging area
· Greet and attend retail customers at the meat counter, assemble meat orders, complete transaction operating a cash register, debit/credit card machine
· Ensure display glass is clean and products are displayed in an orderly manner
· Other duties as may be assigned
· On the job training is provided
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements:
· Language: English, Japanese would be an asset
· Minimum Education: High School, Food Safe Level 1 Preferred
· A team player who can communicate and work well with coworkers
· Possess excellent hospitality skills
· Effective interpersonal skills: flexible, dependable, reliable, organized, adaptable, efficient, hardworking, outgoing, positive attitude, quick learner, time management
· Able to remain clam, courteous and organized in a fast-paced work environment
· Ability to work weekends
· Ability to work on your feet 8 hours a day, perform repetitive tasks, physically demanding; standing, bending, crouching, kneeling
· Weight handling: Up to 20kg (44 lbs)
